Level 2 electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) provides charging through a 240 V AC plug and charges much faster than standard 120 V AC charging. Additionally, level 2 charging is a more energy-efficient method of charging, as most EV have on-board components that require additional electricity the entire time the EV is plugged in.
  • Level 2 chargers are four to six times faster than using a standard home outlet.
  • More efficient charging than standard outlet (120V) charging.
  • Many units come with additional controls, such as timers and wifi connectivity.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION REBATE QUALIFICATIONS

ELIGIBLE MEMBERS
•Residential and commercial members in good standing with the cooperative are eligible for rebates when buying qualifying electric vehicle Level 2 charging stations.
•The structure in which the charging station is installed must be a permanent structure on a permanent foundation on land owned by the member.
•Rebates are limited to eligible services (homes, lake homes, shops, barns, commercial buildings, etc) that purchase more than 6,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity from the cooperative on an annual basis.

ELIGIBLE ELECTRIC VEHICLE LEVEL 2 CHARGING STATIONS
•Equipment must be new and ENERGY STAR rated.
•The cooperative reserves the right to complete an on-site inspection of the charger after installation.
•Electric vehicle charging stations that receive rebates may be subject to cooperative load control programs. The participant agrees to allow the cooperative to control the timing of their charging equipment now or in the future.
•Owner must provide proof of purchase within 90 days.

REBATE DETAILS
•Limit of two rebates per member location.
•Attach additional information for more units.
•All information must be included for rebate-Name, Address (where unit is installed, brand of charger, model number, purchase price and estimated charge times)
•Recipients of rebates may be requested to participate in a future survey by phone or e-mail.
•INCOMPLETE REQUESTS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED AND WILL BE RETURNED TO THE MEMBER
•Please allow 6-8 weeks for rebate processing. Please keep a copy for your records.
•Rebate will be in the form of a bill credit.

A federal tax credit is available for new and used electric vehicles that meet requirements specified in Internal Revenue Code Section 30D.

New Vehicle Clean Credit up to $7,500.
You may qualify for a credit up to $7,500 if you buy a new, qualified plug-in EV. The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 changed the rules for this credit for vehicles purchased from 2023 to 2032. Information about new vehicles purchased in 2022 and before or for vehicles purchased in 2023 and after.

Used Vehicle Clean Credit up to $4,000.
Beginning January 1, 2023, if you buy a qualified used electric vehicle (EV) from a licensed dealer for $25,000 or less, you may be eligible for a used clean vehicle tax credit. The credit equals 30% of the sale price up to a maximum credit of $4,000. Additional Details.

The credit is nonrefundable, so you can't get back more on the credit than you owe in taxes. You can't apply any excess credit to future tax years.

Starting in January 2024, an Inflation Reduction Act provision allows consumers to transfer the tax credit to car dealers, reducing the purchase price of eligible new and used vehicles at the time of sale.
